What Should I Do to Prepare for my Oral Surgery?
We want you to be prepared for oral surgery. Being prepared reduces anxiety and ensures the success of the procedure. Your specialist will review any instructions for your specific operation with you. But, there are several things to remember before any type of oral surgery. We have a list here of what you need to do before your procedure.
Ask Questions.
It’s important to make sure you ask your surgeon any questions before your operation. Even if you think the question is silly, asking will help you stay informed and reduce anxiety. We want you to be as comfortable as possible and want to hear any concerns you might have.
Follow All of Your Pre-Op Instructions
Your oral surgeon will give you a set of pre-op instructions. It is crucial to the success of your procedure to follow all of these instructions. Make sure to read them carefully and ask your specialist any questions you have.
Can I Eat or Drink?
What Should I Wear?
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Wear short sleeves so that we can keep track of your vitals and administer IV. Do not wear jewelry or makeup to your surgery. If you have contact lenses or dentures, you will have to remove them before your operation.
