Full Mouth vs. Partial Implants:
You may need either partial or full mouth implants depending on the situation. Partial implants are a good option if you are missing only a few teeth. If you are looking into dental implants, but are not sure which one is right for you, contact PRECiDENT specialists to find out more.
How Do Full Mouth Implants Work?
The process for full mouth dental implants is simple, but it does take time. The first stage involves planning for the implants. We will do several weeks of x-rays, virtual planning, and smile designs. Once we have a plan for your implants the first six to eight implants on your top jaw will be placed.
Then, we place four to six implants on the lower jaw. Before your dentist can place the permanent teeth on top of the implants, they have to place a fixed temporary bridge on the implants. The bridge will act as teeth until it is time for the permanent teeth to be placed. Once the implants are ready for the permanent fixture, your new porcelain dental implants will be attached.
